Ramsey County Children's Mental Health Collaborative

(Ages 6-11) We'll use games and activities to talk about our emotions. We'll also practice coping skills that we can use when we have very big emotions that make us feel overwhelmed. Each child gets to choose free supplies for their CALM Toolkit.

(Ages 12+) We'll talk about how to recognize and prevent emotional flooding. We'll also practice strategies to feel more in control of our bodies/feelings if we do experience emotional flooding. Each teen gets to choose free supplies for their CALM Toolkit.

This Committee meeting is OPEN to all parents/caregivers in Ramsey County who have experience with children's mental health challenges. $20 stipend.

We'll discuss service options for "transition aged" youth ages 16-19 and suggest strategies for family engagement , substance use, social media, life skills training, legal services, housing assistance, and moving to adult case management or other adult services. 2 CEUs MN Board of Social Work

This will be a hand-on learning class with lots of de-escalation examples and practice in break out rooms with other parents and RCCMHC staff. 2 adults per family can get free CALM toolkit supplies.

Learn about stress and trauma, strategies to deal with distress and heal from trauma, resilience, and post-traumatic growth. Find out how to move from surviving to thriving. Two adult caregivers per family can receive a $20 gift card.

Join a community expert to talk about parenting a child with a PTSD diagnosis or history of trauma. 2 adults per family can get free CALM toolkit supplies.

We'll discuss how to identify your child's internal and external strengths and resources to improve emotions, behaviors, and overall wellbeing. Two adult caregivers per family can receive a $20 gift card.

A panel of experts will share therapeutic strategies to support youth and families during times of grief and loss. The committee will also discuss our community response after suicide and refine a plan to support surviving friends, family, students and faculty. 2 CEUs MN Board of Social Work
