    Learn about common childhood mental health disorders, signs & symptoms, red flags/warning signs, treatments, and how to talk to children about their diagnoses. Two adult caregivers per family can receive a $20 gift card.

    (Ages 6-11) We'll use the the book "Catching Thoughts" to understand thinking traps the power of positive thinking! Each child that attends can order up to $20 in CALM Tools following the program.

    Zoom
    (Ages 12+) Teens will learn how to identify negative thinking patterns, practice coping skills, and create a CALM Tool that they can use to stop emotional flooding! Each teen that attends can order up to $20 in CALM Tools following the program.

    How to Manage and Resolve Family Conflicts

    We'll talk about the causes of conflicts between parents, parent-child, and siblings. Then we'll talk about ways to defuse conflict in the moment and resolve conflicts so they don't keep happening. 2 adults per family can get free CALM toolkit supplies.

    Zoom
    Ramsey County Crisis will join us to review the difference between a mental health crisis and an emergency and how to manage each of these. We'll practice strategies to manage aggression and agitation and discuss when/how to get help. Two adult caregivers per family can receive a $20 gift card.

    (Ages 6-11) We'll use games and activities to talk about our emotions. We'll also practice coping skills that we can use when we have very big emotions that make us feel overwhelmed. Each child gets to choose free supplies for their CALM Toolkit.

    This will be a hand-on learning class with lots of de-escalation examples and practice in break out rooms with other parents and RCCMHC staff. 2 adults per family can get free CALM toolkit supplies.
