Search Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP)
NOTE: Some agencies may refer to this as Day Treatment because youth do not spend the night.
For MODERATE symptoms. Youth may be referred to IOP services after they leave their Partial Hospitalization Program. Or, youth may be referred to IOP when symptoms are not manageable with outpatient services.
Youth should be able to participate in therapy and engage appropriately in a group setting. Youth experiencing suicidal ideation can not participate in IOP services unless a strong safety plan is in place.
IOP programs are similar to Partial Hospitalization Programs but they are typically less structured, the number of hours per day are shorter, and the overall program lasts longer (more weeks.) Some agencies may refer to this as Day Treatment because youth do not spend the night.
