About the Event
In the last year, most youth and their families have experienced increased isolation, stress, racial injustices, community trauma, or Adverse Childhood Experiences resulting from COVID. David Johnson, the co-director of the Post Traumatic Stress Center, Â explains that NO youth will be returning to school unfazed. "If 100% of your kids are affected by something, you don't need an expert; you've got to become the expert." (Mr Johnson is also associate clinical professor at Yale University School of Medicine; department of psychiatry.)
To respond to this increased need in our community, Ramsey County Children's Mental Health Collaborative is partnering with Suburban Ramsey Family Collaborative to offer a series of trainings and practice workshops for non-mental health professionals and volunteers. Some of these may also be useful for mental health professionals! We hope these opportunities will broaden the capacity of our workforce to prevent youth mental health crises and support whole family wellbeing. Â
