Family Nights & Fun Respite Events
Family Nights are for youth who are experiencing challenging behaviors or emotions and their parents/caregivers.
Gather the whole family for a fun virtual experience! Practice a youth meditation or mental health strategy, play games with other families, enjoy a bedtime story, or calm down activity.
We also schedule fun respite events throughout the year. COVID19 has made it hard for us to offer our usual activities like Riverboat Respite or BBQ and Swim or Skate Party. So we are going to get creative. Please send us your virtual ideas!
September is Self-Care Awareness month. Self-care is vital to maintaining a healthy relationship with ourselves and others. Self-care helps us take care of our minds, bodies and souls by engaging in activities that promote well-being and reducing overall stress in our lives. Self-care enhances our ability to live fully, vibrantly and effectively. Our Wellness Challenge is tailored towards meeting each individual where they are at and meeting YOUR goals by focusing on the Six Dimensions of Wellness.
If you were unable to attend the kick-off event on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, the first step is to listen to the PowerPoint presentation (there is audio on every slide except slide 10---click the microphone in the bottom right hand corner of each slide to hear the audio). The presentation will provide an overview of the wellness challenge and the next steps. After watching the presentation, the next step is to complete the Wholeness Reflection Exercise which will help you develop wellness goals you want to focus on over the next month! Please contact Holly if you would like a paper version mailed or dropped off to you! (firstname.lastname@example.org)
If you did not register for the Wellness Challenge, and would like to participate, you are welcome to join anytime! Registration link: https://forms.gle/LezPfq18EnMSbRpd7
