Family Support Program

Parent Support Services

 

24 HOUR SUPPORT LINE: 651-641-1300

 

PARENTS EXPERIENCING STRESS OR CRISIS CAN UTILIZE PARENT SUPPORT SERVICES.

 

Service Goal:  To strengthen and empower families by supporting them in building the skills necessary to succeed in daily life, build self sufficiency, and to prevent the risk of abuse and neglect.

 

Services:

·        Family Support Meetings (FSM), office or in-home,

o       Assess the needs of the family through supportive listening.

o       Determine services that will help support the family.

o       Develop goals the family chooses to work on and provide strength based coaching to assist the family in meeting their goals.

o       Parent education

o       Advocating for families struggling to obtain resources.

o       Assists parents in connecting with appropriate resources within their community that may be able to assist them in meeting their basic needs or reaching their goals.

o       24 Hour Phone Support is available 7 days a week to support families facing stress, crisis, parenting challenges, and/or requests for referrals. (651) 641-1300

o       Respite services may be offered on a case by case basis.  The parent support staff will consider if respite is an option by determining availability of respite providers, child/provider match, child’s need and goals the parent may be working toward.

·         Our services are voluntary, confidential and offered to families at no cost.
